About . . .I’ve been passionate about painting since the age of seven when my grandmother taught me to use watercolours. She’d set up still lifes for me and as soon as I’d finish one, she’d arrange another. Every time I come to the easel, I use the things she taught to me.
I hold an MFA in drawing/painting. I studied portrait and still life painting for a further two years at Chicago’s historic Palette and Chisel Academy. For the past twenty five years I have devoted myself to my work and to teaching art and design at the college level. Prior to teaching, I did corporate illustration and art direction at Bell Labs. My work has won numerous awards in both national and local shows including The St. Charles Arts and Music Festival, The Gold Coast Art Fair and the Long Grove Art Fair. I paint what is beautiful to me. It is as though you and I are on a walk together and I grab your shoulder and say, “Oh, look at that!”. |
Galleries
My Galleries section contains my most recent work under headings that typify the work I do, such as Landscape, Portrait, etc. This is work that is likely to end up in exhibitions and/or galleries.

My Town . . .
The “Cool Places in My Town” series is based on my daily walks through town. Something always catches my eye and while our town lacks the visual appeal of large urban centers, there are some pretty special places. All work is for sale as marked and includes only protective packaging, no matting or framing.

OnSale . . .
A diligent working artist works at his/her craft on a daily basis. Every piece amounts, in reality, to practice for the next one. Most of this work will never see the light of a gallery wall or exhibition. That fact has little to do with whether the work has appeal and value. The pieces on this page have been accumulating in my studio over the years to the point where I have no room for my current daily output. Thus, I offer this work to you at prices substantially lower than the work that finds its way to an exhibition.
